I mean, unless you do. I ain’t judging.

He thought it was water and so drank the entire thing. This consumption killed him.
I cannot argue the logic, but something in me still kicks against the idea of tolerating this kind of bullshit in any way in the future. Like, immediate and unmistakable consequences for espousing certain views - like the genocide of [group of people] for example.
Social consequences aren’t enough because, as we have seen, any amount of tolerance allows Nazis to sway the hurt and impressionable to their side. The weak who wish to project strength will always find it easier to side with those who tell them they were the right ones, the superior ones all along and crush all who disagree.
In this regard, tolerating their ideals in any way has led us to where we are today. “Safe spaces for absolute free speech” allowed for it while the actual moderate voices were shouted down by the vitriol of the Nazis. They festered and found power there and were allowed to and encouraged to do so.
There needs to be a visible consequence for fucking around like that. Just like you fuck around in your car and get pulled over for endangering the public and eventually lose your right to drive a vehicle, so it needs to be with Nazism and those ideals. Humans are humans and deserve to live, period. Fuck your hard on for men with guns, feed people first. Fuck your god, help those in front of you right the fuck now or get out of the way of those who will regardless of which god they prefer if any.
My tolerance for tolerance has worn thin.

There is, unfortunately, no way to know how one would react in a situation until one is put in that situation.
I can imagine, based on what I know of myself, that I’d have gone one of two ways. Either I would have become infinitely more withdrawn and sullen to the point of taking my own life because of the overall repressive situation you very briefly describe, or I would have become an angry, hypersexualized version of myself who would probably have ended up in a similarly early grave through some other, external means rather than deliberately self-inflicted.
Words on a screen, but I am still sorry this happened to you. Nobody asks for this, nobody deserves this, and there are absolutely people in this world who are happier and better off for your presence and who you are, entirely independent of those horrible moments in your life.
Thank you for sharing your story, and I wish you greater joys in your life than all the pain you’ve yet known combined.

I’m more European than he is because all of my ancestors were traveling whores, apparently.
That said, I’ve no difficulty pronouncing his name. If you can’t, that must make you one of the following; illiterate, lazy, stupid, or racist.
Any one of these should disqualify somebody whose job is to work for the people.

No, but I just wanna correct some phrasing for you;
Those aren’t men, those are fuckboy bitches. There’s only one man in this video, and he gets jumped by a bunch of fuckboy bitches and their dog.
In all likelihood, it is probable he is just a dude having a really fucked up day and somebody decided that the cops needed to be called. Whatever the reason they were called, the response was wildly out of proportion almost certainly and exclusively because of the color of his skin.

Love and Thunder was Taika taking the MCU as seriously as most of its haters. He did his job just well enough to piss everyone off, and added in screaming goats as a significant part of the film “just so the next guy would have to figure something out with them.” And it sounds funny because it absolutely has potential, but he beats the joke to death in the movie.
And that’s not even mentioning all the gags that ruined an actually stellar appearance by Christian Bale and had a phenomenal villain wasted in that film.

Copying my comment from another post that cherry-picked a specific quote of his, but ultimately I believe still applies.
My last use of AI is in my post history and was fairly down voted because I was being foolishly ironic.
This said, I don’t really disagree with his take here despite keeping away from AI as much as I am reasonably able. I do my own critical thinking and hate that I have to jump through hoops on the internet to have a simple question answered without some layman’s AI summary that may or may not be even remotely correct or actionable. Even still, when I asked it to check on local real estate laws and provide summaries of possible actions based on a very strict set of parameters, it gave me information that my wife and I were able to bring to a human agent and have things work out better than we had actually expected.
I think a better way of putting it - and I’m still gonna ruffle feathers - is that AI is becoming the new electricity.
Put down your pitchfork and lemme explain.
When electricity came out, people rather reasonably pointed out that simply coming into contact with an electrical device could result in death if one wasn’t careful. On top of that, the infrastructure required for it was expensive, unsightly, and at the time incredibly disruptive to daily life. It was going to ruin and disrupt entire industries that had existed for centuries because it could do things a human could not do unaided.
All of this is to one degree or another entirely true even through to modern times, but electricity has become a ubiquitous resource that humanity would now deeply struggle to live without. I won’t dare compare AI that far as i genuinely believe humans would be significantly better off without it, but the initial Luddite response to electricity has a historical echo here.
I think Linus’ point is more that it can undoubtedly be a useful tool when used in a measured, controlled, intelligent manner, and that it is a genie that is very clearly unwilling to be put back in its bottle. Like it or not it exists, and while we can absolutely be unhappy about it, being blind to its actual real world beneficial uses because the companies that make it are actual festering waste is a bit silly - especially when in the hands of the right chaotic neutral parties these companies are about to have a massive lesson in just how messy their tools have made things.
I’ll start with the TL;DR, they’re probably bootlickers. To be decidedly less brief:
“Woke” is so stupid in how it is used and meant.
The original colloquialism was about being genuinely aware of what is happening and “awake to reality” with an almost Matrix-like connotation to it. Enlightened, in a sense.
Now it means a tumblrista who has more hair dye than actual sense and is overly concerned with how they feel versus reality. That is, if you are to ask the person in question. And that character assassination doesn’t come from nowhere if we’re being perfectly honest with ourselves.
Anti-woke at this point is associated with fascism in a distinctly similar misrepresentation of the original term, though perhaps still a bit more appropriate. Gotta be brain-dead or asleep to be okay with fascism after all, so it isn’t perhaps as far off the mark.
The person OP describes exists in several instances of the fediverse as well, just wearing a different uniform and flying a few very specific flags. Ultimately they are all secret bootlickers. They secretly worship the strongmen because it allows them to outsource the difficult task of thinking to somebody else who views the world in as simplistic a manner as they do. “That’s not a real thing because I don’t experience it” type energy, so belittling/dehumanizing/othering/criminalizing/persecuting groups becomes okay in either active ways or “doesn’t affect me, why should I care” ways in equal measure.
Again, it is important to note who ultimately comes to the defense of these voices and the commonalities they have with straight up fascists. The person you describe may very well vocally support anti-fascist ideologies at first blush, and yet there’s still some authoritarianism in their slant. Like I said, more than happy to relegate their thinking to some form of “greater power” that still views them as the useful idiot. “Well its working just fine for me!”
Yep, keep licking the boot.
