Dude, it’s 500 BILLION, you’re off by 3 orders of magnitude
The UK government isn’t regulating what you can do in privacy, so no
This is about media content not bedrooms, so yes.
But if people do get in to choking very few will do proper consent and safety, so this absolutely gets into being a police matter

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•The myth of "consensual" choking
4224·3 days agoMeh, it shouldn’t be normalised, it’s degrading and copy cats will absolutely do it in non consensual ways. This is well into the realm of BDSM, and needs clearly established consent, not some move that people will pull out at random because they saw it in a screen
Not sure if this is consolation but it looks like he was fired from the show after 2 seasons, which then continued for another 3, so he was involved for less than half of it. But it is hard to separate the show from its creator
I didn’t know that 😞

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What minimum amount of money in your bank account would make you feel comfortable never working again?
1·4 days agoIf you want it to run indefinitely then you need to let the principle grow with inflation as well, so with 5% growth and 3% CPI you have $200k to spend each year (which will also scale with CPI)
Edit: you’ll also have to choose more risky investments to stay above CPI, which means the stock market rather than fixed interest, and means your pot of money can change quite a bit with market shifts, and you may need to downsize expenses in some periods or risk eating into your principle if you can’t trim your lifestyle
