    Maybe this is just coincidence, maybe it’s directly related, but a mod to add Rango as a companion was released lest month.

    Fallout 2 you didn’t even need a Wild Wasteland perk, you just had to walk around waiting for random encounters.

    I kind of miss that aspect of the maps system in Fallout1&2.

    Some of the best “wild wasteland” stuff happened in Fallout 2, which was way more campy than the relatively serious Fallout 1 by comparison.

      First time I was so confused. There I came out from the robotics place with power armor and they threatened me with roller pins. It was a short battle.
