I dated a girl who would always bring a bar of soap with her when she slept over. She’d bury it in the sheets at the end of my bed. Said it prevented restless legs.

…why does that soap have a bite out of it?

…why does that soap have a bite out of it?

Because people see the picture and think “What in the world why does that soap have a bit out o fit” and then go ahead and click the link. And after doing various “experiments” over the years, advertisers have found that these sort of practices substantially improve engagement/click-through metrics and ultimately result in higher traffic / sales / ad revenue / etc.

I think Tumblr is still fun! It’s not as lively anymore and the staff suck, but no algorithm means you really only see stuff you choose to see and the tag blocking makes it so easy to curate your experience.

And I’ll take weird unhinged ads over TikTok shop or whatever happens on Twitter any day lol

      https://www.thehealthy.com/sleep/bar-of-soap-sleep-aid/

Apparently, a bar of soap releases the mineral magnesium while you sleep, which believers say will relieve nocturnal leg cramping. And for those who suffer from RLS, Dr. Mehmet Oz of The Dr. Oz Show recommends leaving a bar of lavender soap under the sheets overnight. The relaxing scent of lavender can ease your symptoms, he claims

Any time I see Dr. Oz, I immediately disregard anything as snake oil. The man is a terrible human being…preying on the desperate so he can line his pockets with more cash. He was already a very successful surgeon making boatloads of money. How much of a greedy asshole can you be to then start lying to people to get more when you’re already rich?

If the small amount of magnesium in soap can do that, just imagine what sprinkling magnesium powder all over your bed could do!
