Yeah stack exchange is proprietary, but community there extremely care about quality. on the other hand, it is common in Lemmy to post one liners, poorly reflected, unrelated, irrational good feel answers. And it is filled with extremist crazies & bad faith actors. Also keep in mind, when contributing to federation platform that you are also giving more voice to extremist crazies, but IG it can be overlooked if other platforms are censoring basic freedom of speech.
Quality on stack exchange? Also your post is a duplicate, [Closed] without an explanation.
I am sorry, my server(https://thelemmy.club/) got downtime, so clicked create post button multiple times to retry. I deleted them.
I see that you are not familiar with posts being closed on StackExchange. It means you can’t reply anymore.
I am familiar with this issue, they are are marking questions as duplicate when actually they are just related questions. And users intentionally not up voting. but at least in SE users are in good faith, encourage good quality answers & avoid duplicates.
I was talking about, this post being duplicated 4 times
This post is kind of ramble-y and hard to follow, I don’t care either way about stack exchange or Lemmy, but it genuinely took me a while to figure out what you were trying to say here
Just use both. I’m glad you mentioned stack exchange because I’ve never heard of it. But it seems to be more of an educational platform, so it makes sense. As for giving voices to crazies lol just block them. Have you seen reddit? It’s mainstream yet crazies are running the platform. I personally think all gay people are crazy; as it is mental disorder after all, no matter how much they try to remix reality and hide psychology history books. Yet unfortunately they are everywhere on the site (Reddit and Lemmy) I just block their communities. If you censor people just because you don’t like them, it usually just turns into 1984. We already have evil governments bringing that dumb energy
