minus-squareTwinklebreeze @lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up0·9 days agoEverything on this list is great advice, but non fiction books make me want to kill myself. I’ve found one tolerable non fiction. God help me if I ever have to read a biography or self help book again.
minus-squarestringere@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up1·8 days ago non fiction books make me want to kill myself I usually feel the same. A few notable exceptions I have found: [Salt: A World History)] (https://www.markkurlansky.com/books/salt-a-world-history/) - the history of salt is way more interesting than you would think. [The Mother Tongue: English and How It Got That Way] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mother_Tongue) - English is a damn weird language. [A People’s History of the United States] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_People’s_History_of_the_United_States) - a much more accurate and honest history than the whitewashed version that public schools teach.
