I feel like there’s different levels of racism that need to be named or they just fall under the umbrella term racist and their severity gets lost and becomes a defense. Like there is oblivious racist (not intending to be racist, but doesn’t know better), to casual racist (likes stereotype jokes), to believing racist (believes in stereotypes), to supremacists racist (believes in race superiority), to supremacists activists (takes actions against other races) and probably more in-between levels.
Like a casual racist would consider supremacists racism to be bad, but their jokes are “harmless” (in their opinion). So when we say there is a problem with racism, they ignore it because they don’t see a problem with their racism, (but they would have problems with supremacists racism).
In this image, the supremacists activists racists are recognizing that he was not activists enough for them.
Competitive ranked racism.
Where’s that team sports guy when we need him?
Exotic robes for flawless
So as an example, would South Africa’s government that chants “kill the Boer” or “shoot the whites” in public, and passes racist laws such as BEE be supremacist racists or have they ascended beyond that?
I used to think so, too. Like I was trying to justify for some people. Racism is racism no matter how you swing it
Should every breach of law be punished with the same severity? Should petty thief be treated the same as a killer? That is the same black and white thinking you are engaging in here.
By putting oblivious racists at the same level as active supermarcists you are saying the oblivious ones might as well be actively killing people. You are giving them a ‘free’ pass to escalate.
You are engaging in some teenage-level virtue signaling.
You know what, you’re right. Make all racism a felony. Doesn’t matter if they escalate in solitary. The normal people can finally have some fucking peace
I agree with you, but I also acknowledge that the less severe it is, the easier it is to guide someone out of it. My now best friend was quite a racist, sexist, homophobic piece of shit when he was a teenager, but learned to move past all of that and is an ardent activist against all types of prejudice now. He understands what our ancestors knew, that simply feeling bad about past actions and beliefs isn’t enough, that one should do what they can to make up for them.
Yeah, I have some compassion for kids who are on that path, because I was there when I was a kid, though not as bad as your friend. Thankfully, I had some friends who cared enough to pull me aside and tell me how I was being a fuck head and to be better.
A lot of people have shitty parents who pass on their toxicity to their kids, who have to actively repair the damage done to them before they knew how bad that behavior was. I saw a comment from @wopalopa@lemmy.world the other day that really stuck with me, because it really resonated with my experience:
its not your fault for turning that way. but its your fault for keeping that way.
All his race baiting. His endless “debates” on college campuses. His shameless defending of trump. All momements are gone.
Only to washaway as memes, in the mainframe.

The best argument that Charlie Kirk isn’t racist is that he’s dead and you can’t be racist if you’re dead.
Counting or not counting klan violence?
Pop. Sploosh.
Technically he is not racist anymore. He is just so much rotting meat.
There isn’t a racist thought in his head. Because all brain activity has ceased.

Chuckles was absolutely a racist. His job was to launder racism back into acceptable mainstream discourse.
You can’t deny he made a lot of anti-gun people very pro-gun, at least for a bit. His methods were unconventional, but effective.
luka magnata still desperate for attention i see
Are the cats at least safe
Racists don’t get to choose if they are racist, or who else is racist.
Wat?
Your comment implies people don’t choose to be racist
I think they’re more saying that a racist can’t say ‘I’m not racist’ and be believed because it’s other people who determine if you’re racist or not based on your actions
I never thought Charlie Kirk was a racist. He was always just really dumb and had done so much dumb stuff that he knew what to say to trigger people.
You didn’t hear the things he said you don’t think he’s racist. They’re very easy to find if you’re willing to look and open to the idea he may in fact had been racist before being shot.
I heard what he said but he never acted on them like a traditional racist. My point is exactly that he talked a big game but wasn’t as racist as his friends. He was cool with letting people be hated on but was too lazy to actually hate himself.
You can be racist with just words my guy. You don’t have to act on words to be racist. That is quite the high bar for racism, but then again I’ve been called racial slurs my entire life growing up in Kentucky amongst all the
racistnot racist to you since flying confederate flags is just speech, white people, so maybe I’m just a bit biased towards falsely identifying racist people. Please let the class know how you identify racists and what race do you identify as?Lol, I’m not racist. I’m saying that Charlie Kirk is lazy and stupid. But yeah. Sure. He was racist too.

Elaborate how you hold these two view points. Or was one simple jab by me enough to convince you he actually was racist? If so, again, that’s quite a flimsy hold on what you makes you consider an individual is a racist or not. That deserves some reflection on your part if that’s the case.
Also tell us how you identify racists and what race you identify as.
You really highlighted the line to go full itemized reaction. Get a life. This is the internet and nothing matters on here.
Let’s test this. In your opinion, was Charlie Kirk for or against LGBT tolerance? If you don’t know the answer to that, you also aren’t qualified to determine if Kirk was racist.
If he is for being tolerant of LGBT folks, how does that make him more or less racist? He can still think Black trans women are inferior to white ones, while saying trans rights. Just don’t let them fly planes if they’re black.
He was a racist because he was dumb. Also a grifter, but it’s easy to grift yourself into a belief if your income depends on it and you’re already dumb.
