I was under the impression that the October 7th attacks were initiated by Hamas. I believe the official status was just a ‘cease fire’ previously and the response from Israel may be excessive, but that would usually qualify Hamas as the aggressor as they would have been the ones to break the cease fire. If I remember right, Hamas broke the last cease fire a few years back too and then they broke the one a decade ago when they kidnapped and murdered those 3 teenagers.
Just for some context, apparently removed because painting both sides as problematic doesn’t tow the line I imagine.
I’m assuming you’re talking about the idea that the US knew Pearl Harbor was coming. I’d say that’s kind of a definite considering that Hamas seems to purposefully break the cease fire habitually every few years, like there isn’t anyone around that didn’t know it was coming.
It doesn’t absolve Hamas by any means (fuck Hamas) but October 7th had big Pearl Harbor vibes
