NordVPN can be set to allow LAN traffic through. So, if you setup port forwarding on your router, which it sounds like you already did, it will then allow that LAN traffic in.

The US also has the best natural barriers to invasion in the world. The only access points are through the Arctic (good luck with that), or by traveling over a damn ocean to assault beaches on North American soil. When not only America has the largest navy in the world, but several of the runner ups are close allies, how do you plan on even getting to the US with your forces? You don’t.
As you say, the US is well positioned in this changing world. It’s one of the few countries almost guaranteed to continue to do well.
Ukraine will have an election after the war is over. That has always been true.
Yep. The core issue is Congress continues to give the executive more and more power every administration (both D and R). Congress needs to take back some of their own power.
This announcement is basically saying he’s going to micromanage the fucking entire Executive Branch government.
That is pretty much the point of the executive, and by extension, the president. Congress creates departments with powers and the executive administers them.
To be clear, this is SoftBank Group, OpenAI, and Oracle investing in AI in the US. Not a US federal initiative.
We got all this dooming 8 years ago as well. We were fine then, we will be fine now.
You don’t really need one that is specifically Linux based, as you can format a windows box to Linux at will. Really any 10" laptop you find on cragslist or ebay should do.
Honestly, the only difficult requirement will be the 10" part. 12"-13" are much more common for small laptops.
Ukraine’s strategy is to expel the invader and ask for any and all assistance in the defense of their country from Russia’s war of conquest. All of the help from Poland, the UK, the US, Baltics, Germany, and other European countries is massively appreciated. More is requested and it’s good to see the UK is stepping up in a much bigger way to assist in their defense.
The UK is one of the top supporters of Ukraine’s defense against Russia’s war of conquest of Ukraine. No way to spin that other than UK helping Ukraine’s defense. British weapons are used daily to destroy the invader, as will continue until Russia goes home.
The UK wasn’t responsible for France being invaded in WWII either. Yet, they helped push out the invader.
They should have done this three years ago. Not wait till today when the US is threatening to pull out. The only Europmeans who have been taking this seriously are Poland and the Baltics, as they know the horrors of being under Russian occupation.
But, the second best time to plant a tree is today! So, good on the UK!
How do they pay for the service?
Free VPNs are simply a bad idea.
What are they getting from you that allows them to pay for the ‘free’ service? It certainly isn’t a monthly sub, and there is only one other thing you are sending them…your data.
Try out LibreOffice, been using it for years.
It’s a constantly moving target. Yeah, you might block everything today, but then a windows update comes along and, poof, a bunch of the data harvesting is back on. I hope you were checking the detailed patch notes every time an update installs!
Hanna Montana Linux
About zero chance in the US. But certainly doesn’t hurt to have some cash.
You said you wanted more closeups, have more closeups of North Koreans dying for Russia’s war: https://lemmy.world/post/25617122
