I should say half of voters, it’s just a distinction I’m too mad to make. But yeah, same issue. I don’t have any trust that sacrifice will be worth it in the current climate or near future unless drastic things happen.

The lack of fear that I’m going to become homeless, arrested, prosecuted, or my position in life devalued significantly. It’s gambling at this point on whether it’s successful or not, as well as regarding any legal ramifications, which further hurts future employment prospects. No one wants to do business with a felon (except for the Big One), and job interviews aren’t nuanced enough for me to explain to political climate of the time, nor is there enough incentive for employers to take the chance on me over a candidate that is within 1-2% with none of the baggage.
Believe me, I’d love to change labor in the US, but there is 0 reason for me to have confidence in my fellow citizens at this point. Half the country voted for this.
I couldn’t get that to work. Despite being plugged into accessory, it would remain on at all times, and I didn’t want to end up with a dead battery from it running 24/7. I’ve never been too worried about parking modes either tho.
Yeah, they’re a little tricky because the model numbers change based on the number of cameras, despite generally being the same individual components. But I love mine too. Also got a hardwire kit so I don’t gotta deal with the cigarette lighter cord. Took me about 2 hours of planning and watching YouTube videos cause I’m thorough, but it was a fun afternoon project.
I have a Viofo A229 and like it a lot; I also have had a cheapo one that didn’t have any issues. I upgraded after my sister got hit by a box truck, using a same cheapo one. It survived and got good enough video, I just also wanted to get a rear facing one.
I think the big thing I found in my research was get one with a Starvis 2 sensor, as it has better night performance. Otherwise, get one that matches your price range and feature set. Most will do well enough anymore.
I love my Nothing 2. I was a 1+ fan boy until the 8 Pro and the switch to Color OS, and I can’t say enough good stuff about it. It runs well, it’s pretty light Android skin. I don’t use the glyphs, but it’s just a really solid phone. Battery on it is great, I don’t do much with pictures. I will definitely be sticking with this brand moving forward if trajectory remains similar.
Yeah, it’s those thoughts and prayers people keep sending in light of disaster. It’s great, you get to claim the moral high ground while burying your head in the sand about the realities of the situation.
I haven’t, but I’m not too worried about it. The football ones are a bigger worry; the game threads were easily the biggest thing I was on Reddit for, and the magic isn’t here yet. Part of the issue though is now that I don’t get on Reddit or here as much, I’m watching IRL with friends and don’t sit on my phone to interact like that lol.
And there really isn’t much posting in any of them. It’s hard, because I am a fan of smaller NFL and CFB teams, and it’s just me posting stuff with no discussion. So it gets to a point you feel like you’re being annoying about it. I do Supercross discussion threads for people if they wanna join in, in an admittedly small community (even the Reddit one was like…maybe 200 active users, 30k total subs). I have been the only commenter there for over a year lol.
Yeah, can agree with that. I live in a P5 town and the NFL just isn’t even close.
Yes, but more because of the gathering of friends and less because the game is on. I’d prefer neither team win (I’ll be watching with a lot of Eagles fans, and as a Titans fan, I don’t want anyone being happy). Idk if I’d say the CFP stole the spotlight either, I’m almost certain the Superbowl always gets way more viewers than any other sporting event. NFL is just really leaning into narratives for casual viewers because they know NFL fans are gonna watch regardless.
The pro-Marxism/Leninist site is mad that people disagree with their policies, and claim we’re propaganda, while banning counter opinions? Ironic lol
For sure, it really helps, as dumb as it sounds. If you truly don’t care, you get your choice made for you. If you do care, you find out pretty quick you should be up front about it
Is it something actually meaningful or is it just general choices through your day?
I’ve turned the meaningless stuff into a game with people I know. If it’s just a decision effecting me, I’ll text someone and say “pick a number 1-10”. I’ll assign even or odd to “do x” or “don’t do x” and depending on what they pick, my choice is made. If it’s a group decision (go to bar, stay in, where to eat, what movie, etc) then I have an app on my phone for “Spin the Wheel” and we spin it to see what choice is made. We “leave it up to fate” now lol.
Also, if you feel really strongly about something but don’t want to commit, it can help push you. If I really want to eat somewhere but don’t wanna force it, I either have to accept a different choice or make myself do it. Anyone is “allowed” to intervene before the wheel has done to make their choice known.
We also don’t do best 2 of 3, or respins. It’s ond and done; fate is never wrong.
I had a similar issue with my Civic from the factory. Not to take their side on it, but same issue. Driver side rear light, and the section on the trunk.
I took it as an opportunity to do some work on my own, and replaced all the rear lights (the single replacement OEM light was like $200, and a new set of sequential LED lights was $300 and looked much better). It’s not too bad of a job, took me an afternoon cause I’m way overly cautious with stuff. Around the same time frame too; mine is an '18 and I did it in '21 I think.
In my experience, the “lifetime” fees are tied to the Apple ID, so it should move devices with you, so long as you have access to that Apple account. And if not, that’s at least how it works on Android.
Not to say the price is fair at $80…I think before the Reddit 3rd party stuff, I’d paid for a fair few Reddit apps for no ads, but it was to support a product I liked, and it was maybe $6 at most for it per app. I probably wouldn’t go above $15, and it would have to be a really good app…
I’m not a big Fediverse proponent, like…the concept is good, if not still a little young (activity pub isn’t ironed out across mediums and is still a bit jank in my opinion) but it seems a bit like a cash grab to be the savior dev making all the X-equivalent of Fediverse, and just hopefully something sticks. With PixelFed blowing up, feel like Loops is gonna take a back seat for quite a while.
The Loops app certainly feels like it. Not to diminish a solo dev doing something on his own, but it just seems like a standard video player with like, comment, follow. Search feature is only by user; when you type a comment, it doesn’t wrap the text, it just moves horizontally until you post it. I think the feed is literally just a chronological list of every video posted, and for some reason, most of the videos I see on it are just like…atmospheric videos. Still camera, nature background, rain in someone’s backyard. People love the concept, but I don’t see how it’s anywhere near ready to compete for users like other options are right now.
Lol coming from the one who started off with the “ackshually, by definition…” argument
Absolutely. It’s also what kills me when people say “stop bringing politics into everything”. Everything in the US is inherently political. Reading a kids book at a library is political. The JROTC marching the flag at a football game. Getting medical care. Everything is tied into politics in one way or another.
