iTunes, Amazon Prime or Youtube has movies to buy and rent. Lots of newer movies take a long time to appear on streaming if at all. I rent quite a lot on iTunes. It’s a fiver and no hassle. Some are a bit special, like Nosferatu costs 16 just to rent it, yeah no I’ll wait.
Also buying on iTunes has been worth it for me as they will give you higher quality versions later on without additional cost. Way back I got Home Alone for free in the advent calendar in SD and now I can watch the same in 4K.
Downside of course is you don’t really own anything.
For some reason I don’t remember ever doing such a course. I never got a “Seepferdchen”. I learned to swim on my own at some point or with help from my parents.
Nooooooooo
That’s true but the electronics are not as clean and the water will pick up the residue and become conductive again.
It was a joke obviously but German cars often start with just the absolute basics, almost forcing you to pay up for extras that should be standard, especially in higher classes.
The size of the universe and the distance between everything in it. It takes about 8 minutes for light from our own sun to reach us. And the observable universe is about 5,859,000,000,000,000,000 times larger than that! That is quite a trip. I would need about 293,283,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 charging stops with my electric car to get to the end. I think I’ll pass.
(Someone smarter than me will probably find out that my math is wrong)
About 90k Euros. Could almost get me an entry level Porsche Taycan in Germany. But that would be a pretty stupid decision as the upkeep and insurance would ruin me. Also with German entry level cars you can be lucky if it has windshield wipers.
My 20s were complete garbage. I can’t remember most of what happened there because nothing ever happened. At the end I didn’t see any hope for myself and had some disturbing thoughts. But I’ve come around somehow and met my now best friends and many other nice people during my 30s. I owe them my life basically. Though I still have trouble finding romantic connection and I’m not trying anymore.
Where I meet people: At work, neighbors, hiking or board game groups
I think it’s important to get out and meet many different people, even without ever becoming friends. You learn social skills, you have more things to talk about with others, you feel more accepted in general, it’s a spiral upwards.
It means if the fridge makes those sounds there is nothing to worry about.
I always loved this one from my fridge:
When people blur the background my only thought is they simply want privacy. It’s their personal space so it doesn’t need to be presented to everyone. What people do with their home is not my concern.
Jemand hat mir in die Stiefel geschissen!
Same. It somehow stuck with me ever since.

This is where „… or anything that might be an issue in the future“ comes in.
My experience is that nobody cares about privacy, moral issues or anything that might be an issue in the future. They only care about convenience, distraction and whatever their peer group is doing. So the “attention” this is getting is never going to reach the spineless mass audience.
I wish I could get everyone to use it but many of my friends are having trouble with notifications not working reliably for Signal. Or sometimes messages are simply not sent immediately, even if both sides are online. This is not helping to get people over. Also no one but me really cares about all the reasons why I would like to get rid of Whatsapp, especially if they would have a lesser experience.
Most people say ummm … uuuh … between words because they were too quick to answer and need to think. It’s a fine line though, which you need to develop over time for yourself. My boss makes very long pauses before he answers and looks kinda frozen while he thinks. It’s a bit confusing but I appreciate that he cares about what we are talking about.
Look up Charisma On Demand on Youtube, it might have some interesting topics for you. Just don’t try to forcefully apply everything. Everyone is a different character with their own quirks and that’s good.
The saying „Think before you speak“ I believe is not meant for during conversations specifically but for when you give your opinion on something and it’s based more on emotion than facts.
