In the internet age where scammers across the globe can and will use personal information to target you for social engineering scams, it is better from a privacy perspective to have phone numbers be information you volunteer to people. There are sites which attempt to catalogue this information and ways to remove yourself from these as well. If a scammer can simply go down a list of most common names and a number string they can more easily make it appear they have a fake Amazon delivery, PayPal transaction, or other pressing issue customized with their name. Most people will not use their critical thinking, and these scams are a big enough problem already.

I don’t understand how people can be so credulous as to believe efficiency is the motivator rather than grift simply because some notorious liars said another lie. Trump used presidential visits as an excuse to visit his own properties at inflated rates, and Elon who holds Dogecoin personally and through Tesla now ‘as a joke’ runs a fake department called DOGE (check the coin’s price now). I guarantee another $7 trillion+ tax giveaway for billionaires will be the most important bill Trump will sign, yet people who have apparently never in their life taken a math class are stoked about the prospect of taking $50 billion/year away from the poorest people on earth which among other projects treats HIV to mitigate mutation risk, resistance to current treatments, and further spread of the virus.

Any news on ‘efficiency’ work for the defense budget, which is $800 billion/year and only expected to increase under Republican plans?

After getting those nastygrams myself then having to troubleshoot some other issues, I’ve ended up using solely a private tracker (iptorrents because I couldn’t get an invite elsewhere) for torrents which I only use for manual search in radar/sonarr to minimize seeding space. Automatic downloads go through Usenet if I add something to my watchlist. I did have torrenting bound to PIA as a VPN in the past, but with Usenet and a private tracker I never felt the need to renew it.

When I was trying towards being an airline pilot it was said that the job is 99% boredom followed by 1% of sheer terror. Being a firefighter or your job sounds similar, with the hope of boring shifts, but the understanding when expertise is needed it must be available. The boredom aspect didn’t work with my brain so I deal with computers these days.

With no controllers made by Apple, it seems VR gaming wasn’t an intended use either as devs aren’t going to port games if most users don’t have them. Which only leaves people who will pay that price for a glorified external monitor.
