I’ve had an amazing time with GrapheneOS on pixel 8 pro. I had to flash back to stock and gOS works better cause stock is so all in on ai everything 🙄

It’s pretty dummy friendly. Accept that some things may not work or will work differently (Most notably tap to pay is a no go AFAIK,) and be willing to learn if something comes up would probably be how I describe it. The only problem that might turn up that an app that you need doesn’t pass gOS’ security checks, but there’s an app level setting to lessen security restrictions if it’s something you NEED.

Otherwise, meh? Flashing back to stock is super easy via a google web tool if you don’t like it. (I had to for a trip, Ticketmaster was being wonky and all my shows were ticketmaster haha. I’ve never had a problem before with the Ticketmaster app so IDK if it’s an ongoing thing or not)

Best friend of 6-8 years, I went back to work (I had been receiving VA disability) to get my money right to buy a house. He cut me out and everyone followed his will and did the same, because I couldn’t hang out EVERY day. I switched to a French Press recently-ish. Instead of 4 or 5 cups of weaker coffee from my single serve drip thingie, I have 2 strong cups from my French Press and am ready to go. I’m thinking about trying a pourover to see how that is. Espresso is tasty and strong, but I don’t think I’d want it NEARLY enough to justify a machine. I usually only do espresso when I’m traveling, makes me feel fancy having a latte in the big city haha.

All that said, coffee is very individual. There is no “right” answer. If you’re happy with drip, than drip is the way. :)

So why not use a dripper?

Whereas a drip just passes through the coffee, a French Press is more of a steep. You get a stronger taste from it than you would on a drip.

Espresso is a whole other thing, expensive to get into at home. It uses a much finer grind and (IIRC) the water is pushed through under pressure.
