I deleted my facebook like 8 years ago. I don’t understand why people still use social media like that. It makes no sense to me.

I use both. I actually hate web browsing on my phone. Mobile websites are often absolute dogshit and I hate having to read articles on a small screen. I also absolutely fucking HATE shopping on mobile. I do all purchases via my Desktop PC. No idea how people use mobile for all this stuff.

How do you replace the internal storage with ssd storage? Is it easy? I was going to look into some more modern niche music players. I just really don’t want to use my phone. I love having the separate device.

iPod classic. The fact that a 2009 device with a mini hard drive still works after dropping the thing like 100 times shows the absolutely ridiculously over engineered build quality on those things.

A way to overcharge money for usually shitty DLCs that release on a schedule post main game launch. It’s a marketing trick to get you to pay upfront for yet unreleased extra content, with the incentive that you can save a measly $5 or something. Often times these are just cap cosmetics. Once in a while it’s a good DLC but usually not.

I didn’t really go too deep into thought about this when I was crafting my reply. I don’t think I’m the best in the world. I am just like pretty sure that I’m top 5% or so haha. So i just most people wouldn’t be in that top 5%. Hwoever I’m definitely 0ut if practice at the moment and would need to prep.

I’m not sure what you’re saying. I’m saying that individual communities should have rules against paywalled content, depending on what the community is. Many should have blanket rules against paywalls since a vast majority cannot access them.

You sounded like you didn’t want any rules whatsoever so that’s why i asked about trolls and garbage. You either moderate a community or you don’t.

It would be up to mods of different communities to implement those rules. I rather have some common sense rules vs. a free for all where Lemmy is full of paywalled content, trolls, and AI garbage. Are you saying you’d like Lemmy to be trash?

Agreed. Mods should be straight up removing posts from people who post pay walled links. I might go as far as to say they should even be banned. Absolute zero tolerance with this bullshit.

No one trusts institutions so they assume that the experts are lying to them to further some political agenda or whatever. Add in AI bullshit that has flooded the Internet, so no one trusts articles anymore. Also most people just simply don’t have good critical thinking skills. It’s all really bad.
