I’ve seen forms of this joke quite a lot in the last few years, and it never fails to make me laugh.

I always liked the theory that Han was intentionally using nonsense jargon, to see if Obi Wan would pick up on it. To see how gullible he is. And Obi Wan just went with it cause he was kinda desperate to get off the planet, what with the stormtroopers snooping around looking for the droids.

Because its value was always fictitious.

This came out a year BEFORE the first F&F movie.

I JUST rewatched Gone in Sixty Seconds on a whim, on like Thursday, and spotted that it apparently has a 38% critic rating from Rotten Tomatoes. Fuck that noise, that movie is a materpiece of filmography.

Many of the articles from those platforms are useless noise, but I do still occasionally want to read something that’s posted. When that happens, I just F12 and bypass the paywall, or look for the comment that has the article text, from someone else who has already done that.

Yes, it’s bad. Usually, with posts like this, you have to read it with a “okay, this is a biased perspective, what’s the real story underneath?” attitude. I.E. you woupd expect the OP to describe their friend in the best possible light, and toxic traits might be described in a very reasonable way.

You do not describe your friend in a reasonable way. You describe a very toxic person, outright. Perhaps you’re just better than most people at being unbiased (kudos, if so, but then I also have to assume you know full-well the answer to your question already). If not, the implication is that this is your “biased towards your friend” perspective, and the actual reality is far WORSE than you describe. This would also imply that you might have some issues of your own to work through, that you think the things you describe are normal friend behavior.

Either way, this person does NOT sound like a force for good in your life. Unfortunately, at your age, removing toxic people from your life is not going to be easy. For one, I’m guessing you go to school together, so you can’t just avoid her entirely. Your best bet is probably to just think about ways to minimize the time you spend with her, or at least alone with her, and increase the time you spend with other friends. I.E. don’t let yourself be dependent on her as your only friend.

It’s fraud. They publicly claimed, point-blank, to do a certain thing for years, and were instead doing the opposite, in the interest of making more money. The affiliate link thing is only one of several points that they’re suing over. The far more egregious one is that they don’t actually “scour the internet to find you the best coupons” They will actively hide better coupons that they know about, if marketplaces pay them to, and still tell you in the browser “this is the best coupon.”

A Japanese Manga and Anime from the 90s and 00s. It’s a story about a kid who gets ahold of a notebook capable of anonymously killing people.

The article lists only like 5 of these supposed 23 tweets, doesn’t provide links to go see them yourself, and none of them mention King Charles, or overthrowing the government. From what I read in text that IS there, “overthrowing the government” is entirely not what he’s calling for, he’s basically saying they should hold an election to oust the current parliament leadership.

This has to be one of the most jounalistically-bankrupt articles I’ve read in years.
