Logistics is probably the wrong word, I don’t mean the actual physics of space combat, that never super mattered to me. As a kid that played a lot of X-wing so I probably imprinted some of that onto the movies. That game made it feel like a real space navy with an organization, ranks, squadrons, tactics, etc. that made more sense than the way the movies portrayed it.
I always disliked that the movies didn’t show more of the world-building, they definitely could feel shallow at times, but considering they were based on old Flash Gordon type serials I guess it makes sense.
Maryland does.
I find Jedi boring and have always been way more interested in the space fleet battles/logistics/tactics. As a kid I would watch RotJ and fast forward through the ground/throne room scenes just to watch the space battles. I still know exactly where all the scene cuts are.
Look at my pfp. :-)
There was a website I remember back in the early 2000s about a fictional communist Canada. It was hilarious and awesome and wish I could even remember what it was called…
Whatever is cheapest/easiest for my family.
We just switched to that same plan from an Xfinity Family Plan we were on with my sister and her family. Been happy so far.
The Long Dark with headphones in a dark room. Really makes you feel cold.
Elite Dangerous as well. My ship auto-docking while I look at my side screens and hear various radio chatter is awesome.
Don’t threaten me with a good time. :-)
Seriously though, we have friends there and have visited. We fell in love with all of it, from the culture to the landscape.
We’re on a limited data plan to save money so I already keep it turned off for everything except messaging. I don’t think we could afford a full-fat data plan! That crap adds up quick.
Personally, if I see a full trash can I will keep my trash with me until I can find a place to dispose of it. I can’t imagine just throwing it on the ground regardless of the can situation.
Not go to work and sleep for about a year before I figure out what I really want to do.
Edit: move to Finland first.
Really depends on who you ask. My wife has absolutely hated every cologne she has smelled so far.
Just wanted to comment and say Lemmy baseball fan here! There are dozens of us, dozens! Also not in IT and I don’t use Linux but here I am. I feel like an imposter on Lemmy.
If only this guy knew what was involved in certifying stuff under the current USMCA agreement. It is not nearly as simple as slapping a ‘Made in Mexico’ label on it. There are a strict set of rules that involve classifying every item in a BOM and having values of them with rules about what goods can shift and what the values thresholds are for each component. It’s part of what I do every day for work. Too much non-US, CA, or MX content that doesn’t tariff shift and you can’t get duty free entry.
I managed to get a Steelcase chair off Craigslist for a great price and it has changed my home office life. I could sit in that chair 24/7 and still be comfortable. And they replaced a broken part for free even though I wasn’t the original buyer.
Yeah lockdown was living my best life. At least I managed to get a fully remote job with a small company several states away.
Of all the Star Wars shows to visit a post-apocalyptic world with child soldiers, I certainly didn’t expect it to happen in the fun 80s kids adventure. :-) Seems like more of an Andor thing.
