They can lie all they want. No trade means inflation. Inflation means markets crashing. It can’t be stopped without spreading wealth oligarchs don’t want to share with those in need. When people starve, they will murder rampantly to stay alive.

Boy do I wish the EU and the UK would sign an agreement to cut all trade immediately with the U.S. and force the isolation this bafoon pretends they want. Prices will skyrocket everywhere, but the number of dumb Trump followers will fall off a cliff and he would be forced to step down by the oligarchs he surrounded himself with. 2023 and 2024 are higher than 2019. Anyone who thinks Biden was “radical” anti fossil fuel clearly doesn’t know what the word radical means. “He even removed all federal funding from the industry” Thats based off what, your feelings? Because it never happened. We still spend $20 billion a year subsidizing oil. The last bill Biden signed pertaining to oil he increased the funding.

Which drilling did he take away? The amount of oil U.S. Oil being produced hit an all time high under Biden? You don’t get there by taking away drilling. Refusing to expand on future drilling maybe, but that is because it would be cheaper and more sustainable to move away from future drilling.

Edit to add: Gas prices went up under Trump last time, and they are definitely going to again. No prices will be going down under his business practices, it’s all up from here on costs, and wage stagnation to pad the company numbers.

He was a conservative, not a MAGA supporter in my opinion. At the end of the day I have to see it as conservatives have ideals that do not align with mine, but MAGA is a group that believes that their ideals matter more than the people’s freedoms. They believe tearing apart a representative democracy is fine, so long as their ideology prospers at the moment, but it is VERY short sighted as their ideology isn’t why the leaders of MAGA is reforming it. Once they have reformed it the conservatives who supported MAGA will no longer have much say in anything, their votes won’t matter. The oligarchs will decide what size rations they/we deserve, and we all know those rations are shrinking and shrinking.

They were talking about cutting down on $200 worth of subscriptions every month. I figured they were referring to Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, Amazon Prime, Spotify, Paramount or whatever other steaming services charge monthly.

I was getting at it isn’t that hard to do. Could knock it down to ~20 a month pretty manageably.

I set up a Jellyfin server on a 10 year old laptop that sits closed in the corner and I have access to play the content from my TV in the living room and bedroom, and any other device that I connect to my network and it was fairly simple. Finding content is likely the hinge that holds more people back. My lazy ass didn’t want to have to go to the corner to acquire content so I set up rustdesk on my phone so I can remote to the laptop from my phone, turn the VPN on to hop to Madrid or so, and acquire what is wanted then remote to it later on to take it back off the VPN. (Allows me to do such when out and about, say someone mentions a movie or show when at work)

Was going to see if I could punch a hole with tailscale so I could leave the Jellyfin server local and just share the drive so I could write to it from “Spain” while read from it on the TV without having to switch the VPN on and off but haven’t had a a few hours to spend on that yet. The shared drive is an old 5400rpm drive and it’ll play movies at 1080p in 2 rooms without issue. (I don’t bother with 4k, my eyes really aren’t good enough to find the storage space use worth it)
