It’s not renaming “gender” to “sex” because they believe there is no difference, it’s completely removing climate change information from websites.

Most vegans/vegetarians I know IRL are chill af. Online veganism is sometimes a whole different thing. Plenty of vegans saying if you’re not vegan you’re not a leftist, or if you’re not vegan why are you even commenting about Palestine because clearly you don’t care about genocide. The rerelease was the absolute bare minimum. Not a remaster or any updates of offensive text etc. it required the bare minimum effort on their part and they are gonna be raking in money that they could have put towards keeping people employed and making a new game, but they’ll just pocket it and continue to coast off of nostalgia and name recognition. I don’t know the specifics of the layoffs, so maybe they were truly necessary, but generally there’s backlash to layoffs, and knowing that they are obviously not going to be hurting economically probably doesn’t ease the backlash. I have no real opinion on it, other than corpos bad, just providing context.

I understand that not everything can be easily transitioned to renewables, but my gosh when sanctions started I stupidly thought in addition to throwing money at the war effort, we would throw money into energy independence through solar, wind, and renewables. We didn’t, of course, so now we’re back to square one, minus so many lives needlessly taken.

Like, I have no personal problem with people from any country, so why can’t we all just be chill and not slob on the knob of governments. All governments have done bad stuff. I buy tea for my family by the gallon and it’s less than $4 vs an equivalent $32 worth of cans if I did the math right. It seems like they’re only available offline at Nordstrom. Hope you’re able to find them locally.

Mind sharing what kind it is? I generally drink hot tea, but my family likes cold tea so I like to keep some on hand. Would be nice to be able to also drink it myself, but it’s just so sugary (and I’m from the south, so I know my sweet teas) it’s hard to feel refreshed.

Tbh, all their flavors are pretty good if you haven’t tried the others, I’d suggest giving them a shot. My local grocery store (it’s very local so not naming it so I don’t dox myself) has a very good alternative store brand. I like berry flavors, and their in house brand is just as good as polar if not better. Worth trying your local store brand just in case you get lucky and find a new favorite!

I don’t feel as strongly about la croix, but if I have a choice I’m getting polar water instead. If you’re looking for flavored water, it’s the best imho.

For what it’s worth, a non zero amount of republicans and conservatives didn’t vote for Trump, probably in no small part due to the people in their life who remind them of their humanity. You might not be surprised to hear of estranged family becoming more radicalized by the right once they’ve been cut off. I have people in my life who are conservative and will never believe that abortion is acceptable, but I have been able to share stories of where it was medically necessary and they have changed their mind on supporting a total ban. Is that great? No, not really, but it’s certainly something. I don’t know that I’d call these people “friends” because I don’t really like them or share with them in the way I would my actual friends, but I have had them in my home. Unfortunately, changing hearts and minds requires a little buy in. It’s not always safe for everyone to do, and I get that, but people love to show stories of people becoming deradicalized while hating on people engaging in deradicalization. There are people out there who say “conservatives are good people they’re just misguided”, and I don’t really believe that, but I do believe they can BECOME good people. Obviously, some are a lost cause, but some can be pulled back to reality. I had a Hollywood is all trans/they’re hiding the true science (not a flat earther, just not a believer in the globe??) coworker I eventually turned into a socialist. That doesn’t happen overnight, and if they don’t at least consider you friendly, you’re not gonna see any movement.

Look at your nuanced take. I forgot those existed recently lol. I definitely agree that taking it company by company or DLC by DLC makes the most sense. I think I’m partially feeling a little burned by the fact these DLCs seem to have had more care and consideration put into them than some of the official stuff which is just often sooo buggy. Modders have come in and made some unplayable games absolutely magical, and I just worry they are being taken advantage of and us as consumers just don’t know, but it might just be me so used to negative gaming news it’s hard to take things positively anymore lol. I think the warframe model you described seems pretty good seeing as it was cosmetics and there was community involvement, so glad to see it’s been done well in other places too. I don’t know that the original commenter believed the AI legitimately was giving them industry secrets or anything. It came across as more of a joke than anything. Admittedly, almost no AI answer is trustworthy, but in this case it’s kinda funny that it’s giving an answer that is probably accurate but is probably not “brand safe”.

It doesn’t “know” anything. It contains complex associations, but it doesn’t actually have knowledge. Even if it did, the AI cannot “know the truth” unless it was in the meetings that took place regarding its creation or it was explicitly informed of that by someone that was there. It predicted an answer and that’s about the extent of it. For what it’s worth, the answer is definitely accurate in this case. What is your question even asking?

If it makes you feel any better(worse), that 1500 people is more like several times more bots/AI powered propaganda pieces that waste precious resources and also do not provide an income to anyone actually working. Just more towards shady companies like CA. You love to see it.

Kinda seems misleading considering they said they need 7 mil copies sold to break even and 6 months after release it had sold 11 million. Blaming the layoffs on this seems like a transparent misdirection to make people think they lost money here. They want to spend less money, and I get that from a business standpoint, but it seems like they’re looking for reasons to make people accept worse looking games. I don’t really play high graphics games, but if they start decreasing the graphics budget I expect to see a decrease in cost. Don’t pay the same for less.

I agree with the other comments saying it’s about fun and not graphics, but this seems to have been published to get people to expect worse graphics regardless of fun.
