That’s not the point I was contesting. I agree with that. I just don’t agree with minimizing what Biden has done and acting like he’s just passively complicit in all this while making the point that Trump is terrible. They’re both awful and Biden has done way worse than “nothing”.

The social credit score stuff is basically a Western myth. There was some local level rumblings and plans, but most of it has been unpopular or axed. The only thing that exists at a national level for individuals is the equivalent of a credit score in the US and western countries. You have to ask “At whose expense?”

You could always use native grasses and plants. There’s nothing inherently wrong with grass, but it’s important to have grasses that make sense within your ecological context. Using a bunch of non-native grasses may help for soil retention on your hill, but native grasses would do the same thing – arguably better since you can use ones with root systems that grow deeper into the soil and they’re more drought tolerant – and they’d be multipurpose (food, cover, nest materials, etc.) for native animal species. They’re often prettier and more colorful during the various seasons and take fewer resources to maintain once established.

You have no idea and are choosing to assume the protesters did something bad. It’s also possible (and likely) that the cops just abused their power and attempted to break up the protest illegally since they do stuff like that all the time.
