Especially since the prison industrial complex in the United States was built to be an institutional replacement for the systems of oppression that were banned by the 13th amendment.

I said nothing about prison slavery. You’re reading things into my post that are not there. The point I was trying to make is that the last the last living person who existed as property under what people think of as Slavery in the United States died in 1975. That’s either not even or just barely two generations ago.

But the rest of your statement, yeah…idk. I’ll just say that people are still being kidnapped, shipped and sold in this country. The mechanisms are different, the justifications are different. The underlying reasons? Not so much.

I took a screenshot of my wishlist a few weeks before Prime Day. During Prime Day, about half of the items had Prime Day discounts but only three of them where actually cheaper. The best discounts I found were on other smaller web stores trying to compete with Amazon on Prime Day.

You should be scared but try not to feel hopeless that won’t help anyone. I’m honestly shocked at how little people have been freaking out. Especially the news media, I don’t see how a free press survives a second Trump administration. That’s what really concerns me the seeming apathy.

I’m hoping that come November the election will go well, and we won’t have to worry about it as much. (As well as possible given the choices)

My family and I are going to be overseas when the transition happens and if we might not return depending on what happens. We’re going to be visiting family in a country where my spouse qualifies for citizenship ship so I feek like that’s in our favor.

If shit goes south and it was just me, I would probably stay but I’ve got kids to worry about and I won’t feel bad for a second about keeping them safe.
