KeePass allows offline password management, though I am not sure if it supports card/ID autofill.

Bitwarden is mainly online only, but does support card/ID autofill and allows users to self-host their data if desired.

Not overly familiar with other password managers, but it would not surprise me if one of them out there has the best of both worlds.

People in the UK are out of luck but the whole reason they’re turning off encryption there is to prevent governments from having a backdoor into their service.

Users will have a grace period to opt out of encryption before their data is deleted. Apple states they do not have the ability to automatically unencrypt the data.

I do not own a Steamdeck, but I will offer my hot take:

Medical professionals say that you should use your bed only for sleep and sex. Sitting/laying in bed at other times causes psychological associations with other activities that can interrupt its primary purpose.

I treat my gaming devices with a similar mindset. I have a work PC and a gaming PC, and never the twain shall meet. Not that I am worried about the enticing distraction of video games while trying to work, but rather when I settle down to play games, I want to do so with no distractions or thoughts of work. If I’m gaming on the same device that I spent all day working on, it’d be harder for me to feel disconnected from work, and my gaming experience would be diminished.

I’m sure this is not a problem for many out there, but that’s my own preference that has served me well for a number of years now.

It’s a bit like making alcohol—it’s made through fermentation, but you want it to be very controlled.

Normally you’d want to sterilize the starting mix first to kill any undesired molds and bacteria, add the fermenting agent that you want (lactic acid producing bacteria in this case) and age it in a sealed container until ready.

If it starts with any contaminants or if any are introduced during fermentation, it’d spoil the batch and make you very sick if ingested.

That veers into subjective territory, though. From your example, going to a vegan community and declaring that you don’t believe veganism is sustainable would be seen by most as not contributing to discussion, but just trying to troll or incite a flame war. I’d consider that detrimental and downvote.

On the other hand, asking “How can we make vegan lifestyles more sustainable?” would be something worth upvoting.

Communities are not necessarily places where people go to debate or have deep discussions, often it’s just to find solidarity and meme out with good vibes. I’m not going to go to the Elden Ring community and say “Elden Ring is trash”, even if that’s a valid opinion for someone to have, because that’s not really the right place to have that kind of discussion.

Guessing it’s likely due to Apple’s approval process. You can try to patch 1 major issue but they won’t approve an update unless it also adds compatibility for all of their new standards and features.

Not to say that’s unreasonable of Apple, but if the game’s not making money on that platform anymore I can understand the decision to just pull it rather than sink more resources into supporting it in perpetuity.

Just be careful, some soaps can have abrasive elements. Not simply like, microbead stuff that companies try to use to make microplastics sound healthy, but many soaps with trace minerals or similar. Good for dead skin but can scuff up lenses over time.

To the extent that privacy-violating data collected about you should be deleted on request, absolutely.

But there are basic things like public records which should remain public. Birth/death records, property records/titles, marriage records, business ownership, etc.

Ideally it would be nice if there were protections in place on what data a company or government is allowed to collect about you in the first place, but anyone whose personal/private data (not public records) are collected by a company or government office should be able to both request copies of those records on demand and ask that they be deleted if desired.
