  • Of course, and you should ideally accept that usecase as a primary if you actually want people to migrate from windows to linux.

People will not transition cold into a system that has so little convenience and handholding compared to what they are used to. They also won’t likely have two PCs to use one for what they know while the other for the new.

I mean this thread so far shows me again why mass adoption of linux is still so far. Those who understand it in most cases do not understand the side where people come from. Especially normal windows and apple users who are very used to their easy to setup everythings.

You also are too deep in to see how what is obvious to you is in fact not at all obvious. For many things of this nature

  • The modern world needs to change. Humans are getting more and more depressed, broken, struggling and mentally ill just to get more and more exposed to ads, social pressure and the lot.

Humans are creative family based animals, not machines that need to be forced into doing the same stuff over and over again all their lives.

A 4 day work week is a good start, but what’s really needed is a rather more drastic change to enable humanity as a whole and individually.

Long term view: Basic universal income with robots and AI doing most of the work is in theory doable and such similar ideas.

It’s just that the existing system is not only rusted tight, but also being held alive by those who benefit from the rusted thing and those who fear change.
