9 horrid plus 1 delusional that may swing toward horrid later for its own survival
I mean, good luck but I doubt anything really changes. I hope to be wrong I just don’t expect to be - less disappointing that way.
all the groups you cited? are they just toothless and making no impact because it happened way too late? or do they just have a very trash definition of what is intrusive? The major players still intrude all they like the second adblock isn’t there.
by the time ablock plus’s author tried to meet in a middleground advertising was already so far out of control that the users said “f that, no more” and most of us moved to ublock origin. these pricks need regulated into submission but it’ll never happen.
if it became reasonable, I’d turn off my blocking. ain’t gonna happen and we all know it no use pretending these companies are going to back off thier tactics.
there are sites where I WOULD HAVE whitelisted them from adblocking if they had not chosen to make them functionally unusable or not stop nag me me. take youtube. I never minded those ad breaks…but that constant box nagging me to try premium is not acceptable. And then they just had to keep ramping up the adds and are now being a big baby trying to wage war on adbocking. Result: no more youtube. ty for convincing me to not even visit anymore -slow clap- good job ahole.
and ever been to a fandom wiki? used to be named “wikia” so that people could confuse their brand with “wiki”. so many adds jammed into that thing browsers tend to choke if you aren’t adblocking.
I mean sure privacy is great to care about, but nobody even pretends to care about usability.
the sahara turning fully green could actually be another kind of disaster - parts of the food chain rely on dust from the sahara blowing over the atlantic to provide essential nutrient/minerals for smaller organisms that slightly less small organism feed on.

migrating dust clouds originating in the Sahara Desert are crucial to fostering life in the Atlantic Ocean as far away as the Amazonian basin
and lose your job while in jail awaiting trial when you just don’t have the money.
a lot of amazon sellers simply mark working pulls as “refubrished” when all they did was reformat or if you are lucky did a zero fill and check that the sectors weren’t bad.
I don’t trust reburbs that aren’t manufacturer refurbished on any site because its a huge difference in the testing and checking being done.
I do sometimes buy used drives, but I know what I am getting there vs “refurbished” - and there is usually a pricing difference which is why so many are dishonestly calling used drives refurbs.
you want to look at the sellers warranty policies. if if they actually have one besides amazons, the seller is confident in their own items longevity
flat earthers are weird. the earth is obviously bowl shaped or the oceans would fall off. and cats would knock everything else off, thats just common sense!
but what about berry club? which things count as berries now?
It’s a cork screw eh?

Theres not fixing what ain’t broke and there is refusing to budget to move on when needed. There are a lot of ifs and assumptions in your reply trying to put me in my place here. Old software that won’t run on anything modern becomes a recipe for disaster when said hardware breaks down and can’t be replaced with anything that functions.
Fuck it lets see if all 3 of my replies can get to negative 3 digits: none of this matters because the original problem was pretty damm easy to fix but here I am taking shit on social media for saying so.
P.s. in medical client sitiations there are compliance laws involved, and I keep seeing hospitals and practices not meet them until they start eating fines because they want to use every machine till it literly falls apart.
Remember when they tried to pretend he was not really involved? And then the time the removed his name? Insert pepperage farm meme graphic.
I felt that way till the influx of redditors came to get their little dopamine kicks via the rate buttons and bickering on bs topics.
“Reddit CEO teases new ways to damage and eventually kill Reddit”
I know my industry thanks. I’ve over a decade of experiance in sizable complex organizations. You know who really likes to cling to outdated hardware and software? Hopefully this scares you because it should: medical organizations.
What the IT people did (and what others claimed was done) during this fiasco was objectively worse than the actual fix but everyone in this thread just isn’t happy that I didn’t join them in shitting on microsoft. This is where lemmy shows that its users are becoming more like reddit users every day. Or don’t know what /s means.
Hopefully none of those systems were exposed to anything internet facing for obvious reasons, but given the shear incompetance observed I wouldn’t be surprised.

It was what crowdstrike themselves told us to do!!! but I get bad faith questions assumptions and exaggerations out of people allegedly in my field here on Lemmy. Bullshit. You clowns belonged back on reddit. You are the worst kind of people.
The only real use of trademark I could find was actually on the twitter account clownstrike took a picture of, unless they seriously want to try and tell is they think the name could be confused for theirs with a straight face.
Copyright assholes got a seat at the table when it was being drafted everyone else was given the finger. Its designed to be easily abused. Accidently on purpose, if you get me.
your first clue was the link in the text - no shipper is going to miss having its branding in the url. the second was that the url it redirects to its obviously random bs and if you do a whois you see its def not owned by usps.
got a few of these phishing attempts myself over thanksgiving. holiday gift shopping season has begun, the scammers want to catch the less savy among us.
