I seem to remember this coming up a lot where the users and other instance admins kept questioning the security of the site.

The admins are very hands off when it comes to World so I personally doubt they’d make that big of a decision unless it’s something important like they’re discussing with the recent big android debate with that community.

the instance owners only real statement on it was just curious why people didn’t think it was a good idea, so I really doubt they came to a decision that quickly.

I can understand that instead of the others commenting, but I don’t really agree with the idea of them arbitrarily deciding they can do whatever they want with the community and punish the users who weren’t aware of that and don’t want to move and or check to another place.

Seems a bit barbaric and awkwardtheturtle esk imo to just do a bunch of stuff without asking the community if they’d like to switch, they just decided “no we’re going to close and you’re gonna like it” essentially lol

first off I’m not? I’m just confused why the entire modteam just refused to get everyone’s input and did what they wanted anyway which is why people left reddit in the first place.

Second, it’s not convenient to just close a community without anyone’s knowledge and punish the users who don’t want to move so suddenly.
