I wouldn’t say they are user unfriendly, just not fit for beginners. There are definite advantages to those distros for advanced users, as they offer way more customisation than beginner friendly distros.

I’m not on kbin so I can’t check it, but have you tried just clicking on lemmy and putting in kbin.social as your instance?

Just another Chromium browser, essentially just Chrome with a different UI. I’ll stay with Firefox and Safari.
