Generally my experience as well. With gamescope, I’ve been able to get games to make the HDR setting available instead of being grayed out, but it’s clearly still not actually displaying an HDR image when I turn it on.

If it was pointed directly at the sun, it would miss. Not that this would make the odds any better, but aiming straight at the sun doesn’t work either.

Sadly, the cover likely did burn up in the atmosphere at those speeds, like a meteorite in reverse.

The intent isn’t to adapt the old cables to a new port, but to just make all the cables USBC / Thunderbolt.
