Removing existing rust isn’t the same as preventing future rust though. That it had rust at all indicates that whatever protective coating was there is no longer there. The dishwasher with likely accelerate the rusts reappearance

If it’s already showing signs of rust, I would think twice about putting it through the dishwasher

I assume to both protect the eggs and so you can see to tell if the eggs are broken. The plastic top is taped to the cardboard bottom so you can’t open the package to inspect.

They also sell them in 5 flat packs which are just cardboard between the layers. You can see the corner of one on the right side of the photo.

I saw this from my Local feed. This seems like a good point. Is the sub being actively moderated? I see a bunch of pinned posts from ‘1.4’ years ago so that’s a little suspect.

I looked through to see if any of the mods have posted or commented anywhere and it looks like most are ‘1.3’ years inactive or more. There is one mod who’s most recent comment was 3 months ago.

Agree. I understand the urge though. Especially when I was here fresh from Reddit. You’re going to miss all your small niche communities that are only feasible with an incredibly large user base.

But you’re better off just accepting that Lemmy isn’t Reddit and learn to appreciate that it has its own benefits.
