There are people who proud themselves in kicking puppies and more would come forward if they felt it’s acceptable.

It’s still pretty bad, but they recruited jannies recently and it seems to have a small effect.

It’s real, but you don’t get to see anything from billions of viewers who don’t mind or even enjoy a little variety. Only the five hillbilly snowflakes who feel offended by a skin tone bother to voice their stupid opinion.

I feel quality of life has improved massively in EU. Everything is the best it has ever been in my region.

In the past few years options to get things delivered to my home tripled. Crime rate is way down. Even though I’m not a vegan, I have many good vegan options I often choose now (like various vegan chocolate from all supermarkets near me). Public transport is super cheap at the moment. More than 90% of my company works from home. A lot of things have been automated or work online, e.g. payroll, most bills, banking, some administrative things, getting doctors appointments, etc…

Ignorance is bliss, I guess 😄

i don’t get it. does it mean, the movie isn’t available within the services subscription, but costs additional money or does it mean it’s not even in any service and you rent it somewhere else?

idk. i have never used nix. however, i think a specialty of gentoo are global USE flags. it’s a list of compile time options you want to use. they will automatically be used for packages that support them. for example, if you enable the bluetooth flag, all packages you install will get bluetooth support and additional dependencies may get pulled in. if you use -bluetooth however, they won’t get bluetooth support, even if it’s their default. they can also be tweaked indivudually per package, which is more like nix, i think.

The dramatic part of the outcome would be many stupid humans stuck in garbage cans.

Updating on Gentoo works with it’s package management, but the actual packages are source code archives (and maybe patch files). It downloads them, compiles and installs them in a special build environment, then, if it worked, applies them to the system and removes the old version.

I think it went very well how Germany was beaten and split up after WW2. It turned out very well. Even most Germans think it went kinda well. Sure, everything was destroyed and many ppl died, but that’s what you get for supporting a dictator and attack surrounding nations.

It’s like you want to misunderstand me. I’m not bashing Wayland. That part of my comment isn’t about WMs and compositors. It’s about how hard it is to make macro that does a few clicks and types a few keys into an app etc… It’s still very hard in Wayland. I’m sure it will get better some day, but we’re not there yet.

To clarify: This causes problems like ugly font rendering and some games not working, etc.
