Finder is macOS equivalent of Windows Explorer (maybe, it’s been a while). I assume Linux desktop suites have various similar processes. In other words, a second optional layer (with more features) to access runtime libc file manipulation api.

So interesting that you mentioned this film because when it was new to the rental market I watched it, and it was around this time that Mel had weird bigoted events in the news. I was indifferent and mostly ignorant of exactly what he did, and even so, I was skeptical and doubtful as well.

However, we liked Apocalypto so much that we started rewatching it with the director’s commentary. Mel was such a fucking ass that he ruined our enjoyment of the movie. He was incredibly disrespectful of the actors in the commentary. He was not so much disparaging of them, but he effectively communicated how unimportant they were to him and how they were nothing more than disposable objects to him.

Then I recalled those vague bad things I had heard about him in the press, and I thought, “Hmmm. Maybe this guy is a vile piece of shit.”

However, you mention Fela Kuti, who is from Nigeria, which is not a lesser known country. You would have to be very ignorant of basic world geography to not have heard of Nigeria.

And, as usual, commenters are completely ignoring your criteria by mentioning musicians from Germany and New Zealand and Columbia and Vietnam.

So perhaps you meant obscure musicians instead of obscure countries, but that would still leave me wondering what subset of countries you intended? Just countries other than your own? But if so, I don’t know what country you are in.

Some (maybe most?) Star Wars novels are packed with sound effects and electronic voice distortion effects. I’ve listened to Labyrinth of Evil, Darth Plagueis, and Path of Destruction.

Also, I recall being impressed listening to the Silmarillion and the narrator’s pronunciation. Sure, it was a professional production so they had to get it right, but still impressive to hear.
