I have tinnitus that makes concentrating on anything in complete silence absolutely aggravating. The tiniest bit of background noise makes it so I don’t notice it anymore, so I generally have an instrumental playing when I need to focus on something like homework or reading.
You could get a small one of those Pelican-style hard cases and make some small notches at the lid to run your cables through. You could even use a phone (many in the last 5ish years have some degree of waterproofing) as a monitor and keyboard and just chuck the Pi Box in a corner for ultimate portability/size reduction.
Is there anything preventing you from using a raspberry pi?
Man, I played this game non-stop for two weeks, then dropped it for nearly a decade. Tried to pick it up and just couldn’t get back into it.
I did it in elementary school and convinced my mom to buy me a glow in the dark set.
It says that around 5000 schools had the program, so roughly 7-8% of people between 25-35 probably did it for school.
Oh yeah, I don’t doubt that for a second. Ms Schwalbach was a genuinely miserable person who had it out for me, for some reason. She taught me a valuable lesson that day, just not the one she tried to teach.
Edit: I was curious, and looked her up just now. She’s on the school district’s committee. Only the best make their way to leadership, I suppose
In 3rd grade (maybe age 8), when coming back from the playground, my teacher had a rule:
STRAIGHT LINE, NO TALKING, NO TOUCHING
One day, when coming back from recess, I noticed that the kid in front of me, Joe, was crying. Now, I didn’t like Joe, he was a bully and had made fun of me and my friend group since the 2nd grade. But I still didn’t like just letting someone sit there upset. So I put a hand on his shoulder and said, “hey, are you ok?”
Thus breaking two of the three most important rules you could possibly imagine. The teacher came over and chastised me for “playing around in line”, completely ignoring Joe (who was still crying). I tried to argue, but to no avail.
Later that day, the teacher made a huge speech in front of the class about how sometimes you think you’re doing the right thing, but you still need to follow the rules, and gave me a citation in front of the entire class.
Also, Joe continued to bully me.
But… but Stelantis is working to reduce the frequency of the ads! Don’t you know that the company that implemented this practice is witerawally powerless to stop it, they’re doing everything they can to make this change (that they made) better for EVERYONE, because they understand our frustration and they care 🥺👉🏽👈🏽
Eh, I save the handicap stall for last, but if the rest are taken I’m 100% going to use it.
The stall isn’t reserved for people with disabilities, it’s there for if they need it. Someone who uses a wheelchair needs the extra space, but if someone is waiting either way, their bladder isn’t automatically more important than mine.
In the case of someone with a disability that requires them to have immediate access to a handicap stall, that is unfortunate, but I’d assume some sort of arrangement could be made with HR so that everyone knows that the handicap stall on x floor is off limits or something. But I feel that’s such a fringe case that we shouldn’t be expecting everyone to hold their pee over the possibility.
There’s a couple of surprising ones in there. “Dumpster” was changed for other reasons, but I didnt know it was a name brand.
It’s one of my favorite Wikipedia articles. I check it out every here and then. Glad you got a kick out of it!
I swear that happened with another company
It happened to a number of companies. Flip Phone, Laundromat, Trampoline, Escalator… all used to be protected names.
Mild detergents and patience
I think the plan is to move to the outside country before things reach “close the borders” level. And having a nest egg there ahead of time
I wish there was a way to have rehosted everything instead of nuking it. Super frustrating to see stuff like this but also understand not wanting to give a company you dislike traffic off of your content.
You chance of winnin’, it- DRASTIC go down.
That’s not even close to what they’re saying.
They’re saying that, given the amount of work you put in, you shouldn’t have to be living on such a tight budget. Not that you should just magically make more money.
Furthermore, they aren’t leaving anything in should/could/would land. They aren’t implying that you should be providing aid to those that need it, but that you should be receiving aid if you participated in this and fell on hard times because of it.
