How does the single mattress in half bit make you think it’s at the top? If it were at the top, the force of the mattress trying to straighten itself out would push it down the stairs. Much more likely the mattress was pushed/ tossed/ fell down the stairs and got folded in that position, imo.

Edit: the shadows are also indicative of it being at the bottom: light source from above and and from the sides at the base of the stairs, either from an open door or window. Shadow cast from the door light source being cancelled by the light source from above the stairs.

I don’t have an exact answer for your question, but I will say that when it comes to shows like these you have to remember that they’re very much TV shows and are heavily edited to present a specific narrative. I’m not saying that’s necessarily bad or nefarious, but you just have to take the events and the way in which they happen with a large serving of salt.

A family member was approached by their team (Holme’s) to do the cabinets for a home that was being redone in our area. They literally wanted to pay him in exposure. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s how a majority of their contracts work; hire a bunch of people to do the actual labor, tell them their payment is in advertising, then stand in front of the camera the whole time and take all the credit when the family shows up.

He gives his big “I’m pickle Riiiiick!” presentation like it’s supposed to be some big huge awesome thing, and it’s presented like a punchline that you’re supposed to laugh at and find funny… Then it’s a hard cut to Morty’s disappointed, slightly concerned face for a solid 10 seconds. Morty is you, the viewer, painfully unimpressed by what is presented as, well, “the funniest shit ever”.

Remember in an earlier episode when Rick makes a reference to the non-existent Redgren Grumblholdt, and the kids laugh because they think it’s supposed to be funny and just want to fit in? Those are the people that the “funniest shit ever” meme is about. People that are fed an intentionally bad joke, don’t understand the irony behind the bad joke, but sees that everyone else is laughing at the bad joke, so they pretend the joke is funny. Two people laughing at the same thing for entirely different reasons.

The whole Pickle Rick plotline is just background events anyways. The meat and potatoes of the episode is with Dr Wong.

I feel like they’re more likely talking about Jeff Roiland’s (edit: creator, one of the main writers, and voice actor for most male characters (including both Rick and Morty)) abuse allegations, after which they canned him as writer/ voice actor and the show kind of lost it’s flair.

I think teaching about religion is fine and actually good for interacting with people outside your culture. Teaching of a specific religion is where you run into trouble.

I had a unit early on in school and another one in my early teens where we basically learned about the origins of a bunch of different religions and cultures surrounding them. Learned a lot about people that otherwise would seem unapproachable to me.

Couple weeks ago I was at a bachelor’s party, to which a number of people had brought Magic decks. I knew nothing about the game (never even watched a video), made this clear, and said that I just wanted to watch everyone else play.

Someone handed me a deck and said, “no buddy, you’re playing!” I protested, but it was fruitless. I’d been roped in; and I was excited! A group of people excited to show a new player their hobby.

The guy that handed me the deck then proceeded to explain nothing and get increasingly frustrated when I had no idea what he meant when he’d say “uh, no you have to UNTAP your cards first… ok now tap them… yeah I know you just untapped them but tap them 😠🙄” (I still do not know what the point of turning my cards sideways for two seconds was but I guess it’s super important?)

The other two players were fairly intoxicated and probably didn’t pick up on the toxicity, but the whole table was frustrated with how God awfully slow the game was taking since the new guy just wasn’t getting it. I just wanted to watch.

Up until now I thought homeboy had just oversimplified a few rules in his head and forgot a thing or two, but seeing that the actual instruction manual is 500+ pages, I’m furious that he had the audacity to forcibly rope a drunk person with zero interest in playing into the game, just to treat them like a moron for not instantly getting it.
