I don’t know of any good job boards unfortunately, but #FediHire and #GetFediHired on Mastodon might be helpful, I remember some people being able to land jobs at companies that use little to no AI with it.

It means the project may be vibe coded (LLM generated with little to no verification of what the output is); meaning it’s a lot more likely to contain security vulnerabilities and privacy concerns.
And that’s ignoring the ethical concerns of using AI in addition to the lifespan of the project (vibe coded software often isn’t maintained very long).

How many more times are you gonna spam this post?

Claude and cursor are mentioned in the .gitignore.

I don’t know about 100%, but I get the feeling a lot of it is vibe coded.
You can check the code frequency and contributors (there is only one, the maintainer).
mailbox.org is noteworthy too, but I don’t think I know any non-profit ones unfortunately.

Wasn’t this just posted already?
Edit: I just realised the text doesn’t even make sense.
I wanted to compress a scan on a train with no signal, and every “free” site needed an upload. So I built OpenFile.
So signal is referring to your reception/service? Then how are you accessing any websites? Same goes if it’s referring to wi-fi.

Is this vibe coded or AI assisted?

I wonder if there are donation platforms that you could donate to, so you make 1 donation and it gets divided among a group.
The Tor project actually did something like that this year, maybe they’ll do it again in the future. There are probably more campaigns like this but I haven’t looked deeper into it.

Like others have already said, “creators” isn’t just video creators. I support people and organisations from Mastodon as well for example in addition to developers building the platforms/clients.
Since you’re on a Lemmy server, you could consider supporting that specific server or Lemmy development in general.

In addition to that, this whole project is only 5 days old and somehow has over 4k stars…? Sounds botted to me.

I archived it in case it were to be removed.

Ah, it’s described in the readme.
Catodon is a fork of Misskey that brings together the best features of Sharkey, Firefish and Iceshrimp, and adds what none of them has: Lemmy-compatible forums and federated blogs. Microblogging, forums and blogs live in one place, and it is built to make communities easier to run, easier to understand, and more comfortable to use every day.

How does this differ from Misskey?

Maybe Reddit will make up for it with all the traffic coming from bots.

I believe they mean this badge on the extension page.

I actually ran into this European initiative earlier which aims to help fund public European social media, maybe something like this could help?
From the little research I did it seems this isn’t necessarily for the Fediverse, but the funding could be used for it from my understanding. I’m curious what others think of this.

Non AI-generated comic by ToothyBj:

!lemmy@lemmy.ml, !meta@lemmy.ml, !fediverse@lemmy.world or !fediverse@lemmy.ml are probably more fitting for a post like this.
Edit: you should already know this
