Which one? I guess to the list of “Dirt”, because it’s an Indo-European language, so I’d assume it does things the same way as any other Indo-European language would.

It’s called “Maa” in Finnish, “Erde” in German", “Земля” in Ukrainian, etc. Each of those means “dirt” as well.
I guess if we were to go to some other planet and find sapient locals there, they’d probably call their planet something that translates to “dirt” or “ground” or something similar.
I went to Wiktionary and checked some 15 languages from across the… Earth. And each but one that had an etymology mentioned, said it comes from their word for land or dirt. In Georgian this planet is called Motherdirt, which I found funny. In Arabic, however, our planet is called “The lower place”, as opposed to the “The upper place”, which means heaven. So, there’s at least one language that has elected to do it differently. And there was very scarce data for various indigenous American languages, so I couldn’t find much about them. In Taos, spoken in Mexico, their word for Earth translates to “land”. The Greenlandic name for our planet does mean land, as well. And their language came from North America, so the only North American samples I could get are “Earth” as well. And Japanese, Sumerian, Coptic, you name it, it’s always the same: Either “land” or “dirt”.
Enshittification is a result of commercialisation.
The Forumverse cannot be commercialised. If an instance starts showing advertisements, its users will migrate to ones that don’t.

If you create an account on http://piefed.zip/ , you will see practically all of Fediverse, basically regardless of defederations. You have to go the settings there and specifically click some buttons to unblock a group of instances most people don’t want to see. But it can be done and you’ll get what you’re looking for.
I’ve come to the conclusion that @parallelminds@lemmy.world assumes a defedation splits the network into two islands completely isolated from each other. They don’t seem ti understand that a defederation only affects the two instances themselves, nothing else.
You don’t need an account for every defederated instance. The network is still one and whole. Defederation only hides the two instances’ activities from each other’s users, but you can use piefed.zip that doesn’t defederate from basically anything.
You will see all content defederated from lemmy.world and you will also see all content from lemmy.world.
If you use piefed.zip, you will get precisely the result you are describing you want. You will have all the Forumverse content behind one login, seamlessly.

Then why are you on .world? There are plenty of instances that are widely federated.
No communities I want to see have ever disappeared. Just choose your instance wisely and all is okay.
Fecesbook does. Over there, communities are called “groups”, but it’s the same thing. I’m surprised if LickedIn doesn’t do the same.

Then there are Reddit and Tumblr and a couple more.
But all of these are worse experiences than the Fediverse. And I believe that’s because the Fediverse is federated.

What fragmentation? I have had zero problems like that. Yeah, there is content that I am not directly seeing, but that is some seriously bad-quality content and if I want to fry my brain, I can always go to the home instances of the idiots and see their crud there.
The most important reason why federation is needed is that it’s the only known way to keep a forum non-commercial for good. You try adding advertisements to a Fediverse server, you get an exodus of users to other servers that show precisely the same content. If you try adding a mandatory ID check for a Fediverse server, users will migrate to servers who don’t have that.
Any non-federated social media will get facebookified/twitterified once it becomes seriously popular. You simply cannot sustainably run a forum without federation.

Same thing in EU. At least over here in Finland. But, the passport is paid for by the social service if you are on their money.
