That’s neat, but I’m not sure most French people care about how their current standards of living are built on top of exploiting their former colonies to this day.

This is really neat, but at the same time France is one of the countries more transparent in their neocolonialism, so ultimately my hope is that the remaining neocolonies will kick France’s butt and let France deal with these contradictions.
About time!

Agreed. Plus most people pay companies for the support and trust they have, rather than for the simple functionality of a component or product. There’s always been cheaper and even free alternatives to lots of established products, but companies understand there’s value in having support when things go badly, and in having a different set of eyes handling that component instead of having to dedicate your own workers in house. So even from a business proposition cloning these apps doesn’t do shit. We need either more work in existing foss projects (if they’re designed well enough) or make new ones with extreme care if we ever want to make good replacements for proprietary stuff.

Wow so nostalgic, I love that

Unless energy prices go down a bunch I don’t see it being profitable, but I could be wrong

You do realize Bolsonaro tried to do a coup, right?
Of the big instances, Lenmy dot ml has a reputation for being moderated in a biased way.
As long as there’s moderation, there will be bias. I agree with most of what you said though.

We believe in organizing as the primary means of achieving change, voting is just a very small part of what we do, but if these politicians want our votes shouldn’t they appeal to us? Our comrades in the US have a simple demand, no more genocide, no more wars, you don’t give us that much, you don’t get our vote. Or, if we’re so insignificant we can be ignored, then don’t removed about us not voting for you when you lose. Either way, it seems like being 99% hitler as opposed to 100% hitler isn’t good enough to win elections anymore, and that’s a good thing.
That’s how I feel about autocompletion and scaffolding, we’ve had LSPs and code generators for years, and they’re exponentially less wasteful
I agree. But if we’re having this conversation it’s because it’s a missed opportunity so far.
