This post is just a circlejerk to make you (the community in general) feel better. It’s not centrist or far-right to reasonably think third parties have little chance in national elections. Start with your local elections and get progessives in or even run yourself if you care so much.

We believe in organizing as the primary means of achieving change, voting is just a very small part of what we do, but if these politicians want our votes shouldn’t they appeal to us? Our comrades in the US have a simple demand, no more genocide, no more wars, you don’t give us that much, you don’t get our vote. Or, if we’re so insignificant we can be ignored, then don’t removed about us not voting for you when you lose. Either way, it seems like being 99% hitler as opposed to 100% hitler isn’t good enough to win elections anymore, and that’s a good thing.

Absolutely. That’s why I include voting in primaries. I’d rather us have 0% hitler. But when the two choices (in practice) are 100% hitler and 99% hitler, I’d still prefer to have 1% less hitler. And it shouldn’t mark someone as 100% hitler to feel that way.

So you’d vote for genocide as long as the other guy was gonna do 2 genocides?

And you don’t see the problem with this?

“Overthrow your government” and “simply have a better government” are not solutions. They’re wishes. Nothing resembles a concrete plan to make an actual change. My statement stands.

Voting is also not a concrete plan. It is literally handing over your power to someone else that will proceed to do harm in your name. Voting is structurally a ritual of mutual agreement to respect and accept the outcomes of the vote, even if the outcome of the vote is that the people you selected direct the world’s most evil military to commit the highest possible crimes humanity has ever invented. Voting is not a concrete plan and it’s not a solution. It’s a wish and an abdication at the same time.

Gang, this isn’t complicated. We have a de facto two party system. On election day your choices are: A. Evil, B. Lesser Evil, or C. Don’t vote / wasted vote. That’s the way the system works. Systems can change. If you don’t like the existing system, work to change it instead of just showing up on election day to make a futile gesture. Alaska this year might be a prime opportunity to get wider support for ranked choice voting if played right. You can also show up for primary season to get the Lesser Evil even less evil.

We also have “Not voting for either evil, and vote for a third party”, but then the Democrats wouldn’t be able to vote for bombing other countries, and they couldn’t stand that.

A 3rd party is not viable in our election system. This is not a question of will, it’s a question of math. If your goal is handing the greater evil power for the foreseeable future you’re doing a great job.

          Yes it is.

This is not a question of will, it’s a question of math.

It’s a question of both. You have to be willing to fight against evil to win, something that most people in the US aren’t willing to do.

If your goal is handing the greater evil power for the foreseeable future you’re doing a great job.

That’s obviously not my goal. My goal is to stop evil people from keeping power. It’s people who keep supporting the evil parties who, by definition, want that.

Well the limited history of 3rd parties worldwide is actually pretty good. And the evidence of sticking with abusers is also pretty solidly bad. But I wouldn’ t expect a Lib to know their history, especially when it comes to other countries.

Please share the name of your perfectly good, passes all purity tests…

Yeah, that’s easy: Any part that thinks bombing kids, and supporting rapists is bad. It’s such a low bar, that I’m constantly amazed that Libs can’t pass it.

It’s de facto only because people like you keep perpetuating it. And election after election the ‘lesser evil’ keeps getting more and more evil, to keep up with the Republicans. Until now, where even a moderate Democrat is further right than a Republican would have been 30 years ago. Are you incapable of understanding that doing the same thing over and over long term just continues to perpetuate the same cycle of shifting the window further and further right? The more you prove you’re willing to settle for the lesser evil, the more evil you’re gonna end up with. How do you people consistently not learn that your strategy is a losing one and you’re making the exact fallacious choice that the corporate handlers who don’t care about party politics want you to make.

No, you don’t get how elections work. If they can support genocide and ICE and building the wall and, and, and… but because they are more competent and polite than Trump, they are lesser evil. And they should be able to take votes for granted for everyone that isn’t “moderate Republicans” and those are the only ones that they should appeal to, everyone else is just expected to have blind loyalty to the Party in terms of “vote blue no matter who” then they have no incentive at all not to just make every evil the Republicans do bipartisan and just keep moving right and enabling the Republicans like they have done for the last 30 years, at least. If there is supposed to be nothing they should lose my vote for, there is nothing they wont do.

Anyone currently working for the US military or one of its contractors is either complicit in or actively committing genocide, yeah. That’s not an outrageous thing to believe. One of the only modern American soldiers I can respect is Aaron Bushnell, the air force member who martyred himself in front of the Zionist Entity’s embassy in 2024. That’s the minimum level of awareness I would expect out of anyone participating in Amerikkkan empire.

Anyone of a normal political ideology would seek to make the United States extinct. It’s a country administered by clownish nazi pedophiles and doesn’t deserve to be defended.

My issue with the republican party is not their choice of party color, but their policies. Therefore I have exactly the same issues with the democratic party. Further entrenching it is the worst thing I could do. Especially when the democratic party is also helping the republican party.

Voting unconditionally for any party is high up on the list of “worst political moves” as well, so I’m definitely not going to do that.

no one will vote for the extreme leftist parties. but if we vote for democrats who are in reality moderates, we can at least keep the worst of the rapists, pedophiles, nazis, and Israeli puppets out of government. then we can work on getting rid of democrats.

Republicans (red) are a united party while leftist groups are split between democrats (blue) and true leftists (green). this gives power to Republicans.

If you are too blind to see that… your vote for a party that cannot win in the short term… is just really a vote for nazis, pedophiles, rapists, and genocide lovers.

Are you too stupid to understand a self perpetuating system? Nobody votes for the leftist parties (except the people that do) because of people like you. If you voted for the leftist parties and stopped screaming about how anyone who does is a traitor because they’re not supporting the corporate ghoul of the hour then maybe the system would change eventually. I’ve seen this happen in so many elections. If the same people who were saying this shit back in 2004 had just voted for the candidate with the actual best policies and not whoever was ‘blue’ then maybe politics wouldn’t still be a race to the bottom where the Overton window just shifts as far right as possible every election season.
