I made a honey cake called Medovik today!
I used this recipe exactly except I probably added a bit more honey by accident.
Cake is 7 inches. I used a pot lid to cut it. I’ll post more photos in the comments.
These are souch work! Awesome job!
Thank you! :) Worth the work though.
Well, that looks fucking amazing.
Thank you!
Some progress pics :)
Also thanks everyone!
Looks yummy.
Oh man this is fire
Visiting Lithuania about 8 years ago I remember you could buy honey cake in their supermarkets (for about 1/10 the price I was used to paying). Needless to say we bought one then and there and almost immediately ate it.
Honey cake is an incredible invention and it’s perplexing why it’s not more common in the west (or Australia at least).
I honestly think it’s not as common because layered cakes are time consuming. My favourite cake is Napoleon but I only make it on special occasions.
Oh I can see why it’s so expensive over here. Must be very time consuming. I was shocked at how available it was. They really like their honey over there. We have a shot of Krupnikas every year for Kucios (traditional Christmas Eve celebration). It’s a very nice honey liqueur if you want more honey deliciousness.
That looks so tasty.
That’s a lot of work! I bet it’s tasty, too!
